Suspicious Activity

A security incident can include suspicious activity in or near your office location, lost or stolen laptops or other equipment, unauthorized access to your office space, and other activities. Report a security incident as soon as they occur. If you need emergency assistance, call  911.

If you think you are witnessing something or see someone suspicious, stop, assess, and react.

Stop
Stop, evaluate the situation, and honor your intuition. If a stranger makes you feel uneasy or unsafe, keep yourself at a safe distance from the suspicious person or activity.

Assess
Try to pinpoint your wariness. Is this person:

  • In a location, he or she does not belong?
  • Behaving inappropriately or disruptively?
  • Unusually watchful, perhaps conducting surveillance?
  • Carrying a weapon?

React
Call your local security office, or the Global Security Command Center at  973-802-6675 or if warranted  911
